Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has received an amount of Rs.248 crore, so far, from Central and state governments under Smart City project, whereas it has contributed Rs.200 crore from its side to the project this fiscal.
Civic authorities plan to develop Indore as a Smart City with a cost of Rs.25,108 crore. The city will get a total assistance of just Rs.21,000 crore (Rs.500 crore each from the Centre and the State) under the project. The corporation will have to manage the remaining amount of the scheme on its own.
Indore is among 20 cities in the country selected under the first phase for the implementation of the Smart City project.
