Coal India (CIL) is on its path of modernisation. It has adopted modern technologies for coal mining and proposed to further modernise mining operations in its mines.
A Committee has been constituted to look after the issues for technology up-gradation and modernisation of CIL through hiring of international consultants.
Union Minister of State for Coal Pratik Prakash Bapu Patil said that an Expression of Interest has been floated on the websites of Central Mine Planning and Design Institute, CIL and Ministry of Coal for inviting proposals from international consultancy firms for technology development and modernisation of mines of CIL.
