Ram Walase is the Chief Executive Officer of IL&FS Township & Urban Assets Ltd, a subsidiary of Infrastructure Leasing & Financial Services Ltd (IL&FS), India. Walase has 16 years of experience in investment banking, infrastructure financing and implementation, policy advisory and management consulting. As a senior resource at IL&FS, Walase has been involved in a number of infrastructure projects from conceptualization to commissioning. Apart from his experience in financial structuring, risk assessment and project appraisals, Walase was involved in a number of infrastructure projects from contextualization to commissioning. In his recent role as CEO of subsidiary companies, Walase has been responsible for building teams, turning around existing businesses and setting up new business verticals. IL&FS is a premier infrastructure development and financing institution that plays a variety of roles in the infrastructure sector. Over the past 25 years, IL&FS Group has pioneered the concept of Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) arrangement for infrastructure in India and has implemented projects in almost all infrastructure sectors such as telecom, power, roads, ports, industrial parks, water supply, power, airports, sanitation, education, and urban development. Walase has worked across functional and sectoral spread of the Group and was involved in consolidation and reorganization of infrastructure assets of the group into specialist business verticals and induction of private equity investors in group entities. In his current role, Walase is involved in conceptualization and development of projects such as new smart cities, sports infrastructure, logistics parks, affordable housing and other urban infrastructure. Earlier in his career, Walase has worked as a consultant at A F Ferguson & Co and CRISIL.
